Botho University (BU) was established in 1997 in Botswana and has rapidly evolved over the years to become a leading multi-disciplinary tertiary education provider spread across 5 countries in Africa, namely Botswana, Lesotho, Eswatini, Namibia, and Ghana, with an additional Online Learning Campus. All programs offered by Botho University are approved by the respective regulatory bodies in all countries of operation. Botho University was one of the first local tertiary institutions in Botswana to be accredited by the Human Resources Development Council (HRDC). All programmes offered by Botho University are approved by the Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA).
Botho University currently offers qualifications from Certificate to Master’s degree levels, with established plans for Doctoral programs in the foreseeable future. The university has over 4500 students and nearly 300 staff members.

The Academic Board shall be the primary academic governing body of the institution, responsible for analyzing and ratifying the decisions of the Faculty Programmes Committee and the Faculty Assessment Committee of each Faculty, the University Research and Consultancy Committee as well as setting institution wide academic policies and regulations.

Advisory Council
The Advisory Council consists of members from the community and industry, and expert educators along with staff, and student representatives. The Advisory Council provides a forum for sharing of ideas, opportunities and best practices in education and acts as a channel of communication with the stakeholder community in general.
